I bought a farm. Its name is Farmcraft.
Farming, in a modern-traditional and regenerative manner, is to me the most interesting and worthwhile pursuit in the world.
We (Farmcraft) are going to raise, and sell direct-to-consumer, high quality animal products – beef, pork, chicken. Maybe some eggs on a smaller scale, maybe some other animals here and there, probably some orchard fruit and perennial vegetables. No pesticides, herbicides or other synthetic chemicals. The animals will all live outside, on the grass and on the edge of the forest. The animals will live a high-quality life and meet a swift end to provide operating income to the farm and delicious nutrition to our customers. Farmcraft meat, eggs, fruit and vegetables will be as tasty and full of vital energy and nutrients as any food products on Earth.
The farm is in Plymouth, WI. It is 92 acres - about half fields and half forest. There is a house. It is a turn of the century farmhouse, gutted to the studs but otherwise sound and tight. It is the major focus this year. I am doing some farming this year, but the house is the focus. I will be doing a lot of the work myself and subcontracting out some of it. I hope and plan to have the house cozy by Winter.
The Farm – the house, the animals, the vegetables, wildlife and people – that is what I will be doing and what I will be writing about for the foreseeable future. I hope you enjoy the Saga. Welcome to Farmcraft.
