T-36 hours to 70.3 St George.
It’s my first triathlon of the season. Everyone is here. Half of Boulder made the drive through the mountains, across the broken desert lands and into the oasis of St George, and a good chunk of the world’s quickest have flown in, all to crack it out in the 70.3 North American Championship.
I’m stoked. I’ve done 5 full Ironmans, and the most recent (Sept. 2016, IMWI) was far and away the best performance yet, a Huge breakthrough. This will be my third half Ironman. The previous two have been great learning experiences. This third one, I’m here to really let it rip. So I'm really stoked. Scared, too. For sure.
That’s all for now. There is a lot of story of the last 6 months, and more story of the last 6 weeks. I’ll save the stories for post-race.
For now, it’s time to rest up; to get the mind, the body, the mind-body all aligned, focused, steely, quiet; to visualize and prepare for a level of success wildly beyond anything to date; and to go out there Saturday morning and just crack it out, throw it down, crank it all the way up.
